Hello Skinner Families,  
Welcome to the 21-22 school year – I’m so excited to launch my second year as Principal with full in-person learning! I’m excited to meet all of you and our Skinner Scholars!   Please click on this link for Principal Julie Stephens’s video narration of this information.  Here’s some information to get you started – if you have any questions, please call Skinner Main Office at 720-424-1420.

Bell Schedule: For the 21-22 School year, the student day will be 7:30-2:30pm.  Click here for access to Period 1-8 Bell Schedule. I’m so excited students will have access to all of Skinner’s course offerings for the upcoming school year! Yay, a full day of school too! 

Class Schedules: Students will get their class schedules on the first day of school on August 24th. Thank you for your patience! 

Arrival/Dismissal:

  • Morning supervision begins at 7:10 am.  Students need to be picked up by 2:45pm.
  • Students can enter the building at 7:20 am.
  • 6th grade:  Please drop off/pick-up your child at the 6th grade Entrance on the corner of 40th and King Street. 
    • *On August 10, please drop off your child at Main Entrance for the first day of 6th grade Academy. 
  • 7th grade: Please drop off/pick-up your child at the 7th grade Entrance on the cross streets of 40th and Julian. 
    • *On August 23, please drop off your child at Main Entrance for the first day of 7th grade Academy. 
  • 8th grade: Please drop off/pickup your child at the 8th grade Entrance at the Main Entrance on 40th Street. 
  • Free breakfast is available every morning at 7:10 am. Students can enter the cafeteria on 41st Street (back of the building). 

Supplies to bring:Mask, Backpack, water bottle, Trapper Keeper (zipper and strap preferred), chromebook, charger, headphones or ear buds, pencils/pens. 

Chromebook distribution: Chromebooks will be distributed between August 24-26 for those students who do not have a district-issued chromebook. 

Online Registration: 

  • Your child will not be able to attend school (including Academy Days) until all steps of the online registration process have been completed. 
  • Please review our Skinner website: https://skinner.dpsk12.org/2021-22-registration/
  • Please don’t forget to complete the Meal Application whether you are opting in or opting out. Please click on this link to complete. Skinner gets essential funding based on the number of Meal Applications submitted. Thank you!
  •  If you need in-person assistance, Skinner Main Office staff will be available to assist on:
    •  Monday, August 9 (*6th grade only) 7:30-3:30
    • Thursday, August 12 7:30-3:30 
    • Friday, August 13 7:30-3:30 

Skinner Dress Code: I’m grateful for the collaboration with Skinner Student Council, in making some updates to our Dress Code for the 21-22 school year. 

School Uniforms: Skinner Logo Uniform items are recommended and preferred, and may be purchased at Skinner during the following days/times: August 10-12 12:30-3:00pm.  Review website for uniform items/prices: https://skinner.dpsk12.org/2021-22-registration/  *Ring buzzer at Main Entrance.  Masks are required. Only one family in the Main Office at a time. Cash, check, credit card accepted.

9/6 No School – Labor Day
9/8 Kickoff for CSC/PTO/ELA-PAC 5:00-6:00pm *Virtual – more info to come!
9/9 Back to School Potluck/BBQ 5:30-7:00 *Outdoors – more info to come! 
9/15 Coffee with the Principal #1 7:40-9am *Virtual – more info to come! 
9/17 Skinner-only Day #1 – no school for students 
9/27 No School – DPS Staff Development Day
