Why should students continue to access academic resources over the summer?
At Skinner, we want to provide resources to have our students avoid “summer slide.” Our students work so hard throughout our school year to make academic gains with their grade level content. We want to make sure that students continue to “flex” their reading, writing, thinking and math muscles so they can start their next year at or above where they finished the previous school year.
Summer Homework is not mandatory or required for any students for the 22-23 school year (except for 8th graders enrolled in High School Math II). We encourage students and families to engage in some of the academic resources below, but nothing will be graded or collected at the beginning of the school year.
