SKINNER STUDENT/FAMILY CHECK OUT AND CLOSE OUT GUIDELINES

Families, we hope you are well during these uncertain times.  We know there are many questions of how we wrap up the 2019-2020 school year.  Below you will find the information and next steps to help guide you. You will have an opportunity to get your personal items that were left at school.

All Families leaving DPS – we will collect your chromebooks, instruments, sports jerseys, library books and course textbooks.

Current 8th Graders staying in DPS – we will collect your instruments, sports jerseys, and library books

  • Please keep your chromebooks and hotspots, unless they are broken then please return them for repair

Current 6th and 7th Graders staying at Skinner  – we will collect your instruments and sports jerseys, and broken chromebooks or hotspots for repair. 

Current 6th and 7th Graders leaving Skinner but staying in DPS  – we will collect your instruments, sports jerseys, and library books

  • Please keep your chromebooks and hotspots, unless they are broken then please return them for repair

Collection Details: 

Technology: For all schools, DPS will ONLY collect technology devices from:

  • Students who are leaving Denver Public Schools.
    • 8th grade students (or students going to another school in DPS)  will not turn them in they will take chromebooks/hotspots to HS

*All other students are expected to keep their technology and have it ready for the 2020-2021 school year.

  • Students who have a broken device.

*Students who have loaner Chromebooks will keep those.  Students who need a loaner will swap devices.  

Core + and Sports Drop off/Collection Guidance: 

  • Musical Instruments  and music notebooks- will be collected from ALL band and orchestra students.  Please label your instrument with blue painters tape (we will have some available during the drop off times) with your first name, last name and grade level.
  • Ms. Smith sent an email of how to clean your instrument prior to drop off.
  • Text Books/Novels/ Library Books – will be returned ONLY from students leaving DPS AND students finishing  8th grade.
    • All other library books will be returned in the Fall.
  • Athletic/Sports Uniforms – all sports uniforms will be collected.

Donation Collection Guidance:

  • PE Uniforms – you may donate your PE uniforms if you would like 
  • Skinner School Uniform Items may be donated 

WHEN:   If you have more than one student please pick the one day that works best for you. If the date/time does not work for  your family, know that you can come at any of the times/dates below.

  • 8th grade Tuesday May 26th 7:00am – 11:00am
  • 7th grade Wednesday May 27th 10:00am – 2:00pm
  • 6th grade Thursday  May 28th  1:00pm – 5pm 

PERSONAL ITEMS LEFT AT SCHOOL:

  1. If your student left an item in school – 
    1. When you pull up please be ready to tell us what you left at school and we will do our best to have it ready for you.

HOW:   Curbside DROP OFF

  1. Parents/guardians will pull (or walk to) up to the main stairs on 40th St. and wait for a staff member to assist you.
    1. Please wear a mask for your safety.
    2. Our staff will be wearing masks and gloves for their safety.
  2. Please do not get out of the car.

*All items after May 28th will be donated, recycled and/or trashed.
