Jessica Nenni Biography

Hi everyone! A little bit about myself:

I started teaching at Skinner Middle School in 2012 and I am excited to be a part of the Skinner family! I teach 6th grade math, 8th grade Geometry, and coach boys soccer after school in the Fall.

I was born and raised in Rochester, NY in a large family of 7. I have 3 younger brothers and an older sister, and a huge Italian extended family. Throughout school, I played soccer and ran track, learning technical skills as well as skills relating to teamwork and collaboration with others.

I attended The State University of New York at Brockport and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences in 2006. From there, I worked for a pharmaceutical company in New Jersey. After only one year with that company, I decided the career wasn’t one I could see doing the rest of my life. I moved back into New York State, to Albany, and attended the State University of New York at Albany where I took some classes to better help guide me with career decisions. During this year, I decided to become a teacher :). I moved back to Rochester, NY, and enrolled in graduate school at The State University of New York at Brockport. From there, I graduated with my Master’s in Education and Special Education. While working on my thesis project, I decided to move to Denver. I got here, loved it, and haven’t looked back. That brings me to here, Skinner Middle School, where I am proud and excited to work.

In my spare time (what? teachers do things other than teach and grade papers?), I enjoy watching football (Go Buffalo Bills!!), traveling, hanging out with friends and family, golfing, and eating.
